Law of Randomness

Listen to article

00:00 / 02:49

We are all born equal. That is to say that when we first make our passage out of the womb we know nothing. We have no skills. We are a blank slate. It is in this state that we are all equals, and it is the last time we will ever be considered equals.

As time progresses, the truth reveals itself, that though we are all born the same, we are all born within different circumstances. And these circumstances are far from equal.

When our parents are cleared to take us home from the hospitals the divide between our realities begin to grow apart like branches from a tree. The fact of the matter is that our lives begin where our parents' lives ended.

Of course I am speaking metaphorically here. What I mean is that your guardians can only pass on the knowledge up to where their lives have led them. So, though our origins are equal, the distance from where the flame of life was passed on leans far from balanced

This point where the baton was passed is the point from which your life will begin to be crafted. The environment preps your life like a meal.

and of course, one last ingredient: Randomness. One that without would leave humanity doomed to stagnation. Cursed to repeat the traumas, or blessings of the past for eternity. It is this randomness that gives hope to the hopeless, and fear to those in power. For it brings with it unpredictable change.

The powerful always seek to gain more and more control as a way to destroy random occurrences. They would prefer that life continue without interruption, not respecting the fact that their ancestors were once gifted by this same randomness that put them in a position to seize the power that has now been passed on to them.

I don’t blame them, and in fact I understand their position completely. See, it is randomness that takes and gives indiscriminately. When it gives to the have-nots, those without, become those who have, and the trauma of their powerless past is what leads them to cling to power with relentless obsession that is passed on from generation to generation.

On the other hand, there are the haves who become have-nots and are hurled down from positions of comfort. Like a bird without its flock, they are now pinned to the ground alone and without alliance.

Randomness is in essences chaos, but it should not be feared. It should be cherished. It is the proof that change can happen and that anything is possible. It is the balancer of the scales. But be wary of complacency in hopes of effortless gains, because more likely than not, randomness will only provide opportunities leaving the next step in your hands.
